Will Reaper Ever have this feature?

I think that Reaper might be heading in that direction, along with all of the current customization options, but only Cockos knows for sure (or not).

WALTER has the potential to make it happen, but it depends on Cockos to actually provide the means to allow repositioning and skinning various GUI elements. Who knows, maybe they can extend it to other windows (envelope screen, sends screen, FX bin, etc.)?

Do we even have any hint from developers of seeing this feature in the future?

Oh don't take me the wrong way, =] Reaper can take all the time they need to add this feature, I'm pretty sure Reaper 4 will come with tons of other new additions.

hey, jeff, nice to meet you. i agree with you about your idea, here. there's a Feature Request in -- of all places -- the Feature Request forum referring to pretty much exactly this subject - stop by and give it a vote here: the link is also in my sig. but in terms of where to have posted this thread: with 4 alphas floating around, it seems like things are a little blurry, but requests/requests discussion should still go in the FR forum. luckily, they're already there. this forum is technically supposed to be all commentary on improving/fixing/steering existing functions. but i hear you, loud and clear!
