Request for Reaper's Latency screenshots- Please post

MessageAuthor

Can you give a few more details of how this will be helpful? I mean, is the selected sample rate or latency setting going to matter?

RE: Request for Reaper's Latency screenshots- Please post

Not Really 48 khz, 88.2 khz, 96 khz no difference So set your interface to whatever you use. We need to find out why this is happening in Reaper and other hosts as well. Is this an OS thing with the newer LSI or other Firewire drivers built in The drivers of the interface have nothing to do with the problem, it's an OS + Daw problem Now I have emailed Edirol to let them know if their drivers for Windows 7 or Windows 8 are adding more latency somehow. The problem is though on XP I can play VSti's all day at 1.5 ms since the drivers latency is synched properly. In Windows 7 and Windows 8 not synched. So we need to find out it this is related to OS or Audio Interface and their Windows 7 and Windows 8 drivers. This has nothing to do with OS tweeks at all, this has no effect on the Drivers synch issue.

Perfect thanks. Compiling a list of drivers that do not synch in Windows 7 and Windows 8 I need everyone to post what you did.

Interesting. Just ran mine using both 32 bit and 64 bit Reaper. Win7 Pro 64bit and in both cases my RME HDSP9652 came up with 1.4/2.2 I will try the focusrite saffire6 on Win7 64bit later & post results for that, but it looks like RME have an issue, assuming that synch IS a serious consideration here. No reason to doubt you at all, just like to keep an open mind before the final result is in and conclusions are drawn. I suppose I could reinstall my Emu 1212m if you insist but would rather not.

Well i agree that the drivers arent as good under W7/8 as under XP but i dont see how the input and output latencies not being identical has anything to do with it. On my soundcard (M-Audio fast track ultra 8r) they are the same but it wont go below 128 samples on W7/8 while on XP it will. I think there is a bit more to it than differing i/o latency.

Anyone with a FF800 please post! I cannot. My XW8400 just went south. I need a new PC to reinstall Win and DAWs. I'll post mine (Reaper and Sam) if i'm done on time
