yesterday i scanned and defragged all drives on all my disks and i'm still getting -6045 errors. this is driving me insane. it happens during playback and recording. what could be the problem? answerbase: well, i do have mixed chipsets * Gigabyte GA-7DX (onboard sound enabled - for midi) * AMD XP1900+ * 512 MB PC2100 * 30 GB Seagate ATA 100 system/storage in 2 partitions * 80 GB WD special ATA 133 8MB cache audio/storage in 3 partitions * ATI Radeon 8500 * slot 2 Netgear NIC * slot 3 Digi001 * slot 4 Seasound Soloist * slot 5 Pinnacle 1394 this setup worked great with 5.1 and 5.3. i didn't use it much with 5.3 because i was waiting for rewire. now with 6.1.1 i'm getting -6045 all over the place.
da BaSsTaRd!, Here is an old thread where I was attempting to help someone out with 6045 errors. It may give you some ideas. 6045s are not fun! I hope you find a solution. The good news is that I once had the plague on my current setup, and I managed to alleviate it. The bad news is that it took a clean install to do it! I have never tried PTLE 6.x.x though... Mike

Hi Brian. Our systems are almost identical, but I'm still with 5.3.1 It's been trouble free. Wonder if 6.x is pickier about our GA7DX mixed chips? I've been waiting to update to 6.x because of threads like this... even though I'd love to play with Rewire. Just curious, have you had the Bounce to Disk problem, too? Hope you find some answers... you're test flying for me. Jonmark
Man, it's the software. I was humming along in 5.3, now with the exact same setup in 6.1, I get 6045 errors, random computer lockups requiring a hard reboot, CPU conflicting with other tasks messages, you name it. If everything was hunky dory in 5.3, and I haven't changed a thing with my hardware on 6.1, it's gotta be the software. I guess it's the price to pay for being on the bleeding edge...
